Everything twenty-five years of operating taught Dr. Antipov – the feel for bone density through the handpiece, the decision made half a second before it shows on camera – retires with him. Unless it is recorded, structured, and taught to a machine. That is what this line is for. The dataset is stage one of an apprenticeship: an AI that studies the master at work, on its way to robotic systems that carry the skill to patients no single career could ever reach.

The surgeon behind the data
Alexander V. Antipov, DDS
Three roles that are usually three people – the protocol sponsor, the principal investigator and the surgeon holding the handpiece – are one person here. That is why the annotation-to-ground-truth distance is zero: every label traces back to the clinician who performed the operation and narrated it while he worked.
Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, fellowship-trained in complex implant reconstruction, with advanced training in anesthesia. Over 25 years in dentistry and more than 10,000 procedures, personally performing every surgery since 2008. His 2026 Neodent Elite Practitioner Award recognizes placing more implants than any other surgeon in the United States – which is precisely the procedure class this corpus is built from.
Surgery runs in the practice's own operating rooms under his own anesthesia permit, at four locations approved under the study protocol. He performs every recorded procedure, narrates it intraoperatively, and reviews the terminology behind every label before it ships.
